The invited resource speaker was Criselda Bisda, a human resource practitioner for 16 years. Her expertise is in gender, disability, and social inclusion especially in disaster risk reduction. January 17, 2023 – The Office of Gender Concerns (OGC) organized the year’s first meeting-workshop for the members of the Gender Focal Point System at UPOU. Dr. Melinda dP Bandalaria, Chancellor and Chairperson of GFPS, welcomed the members in the meeting-workshop. Last June 15 to 25, 2022, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Office of Gender Concerns (OGC) held a Pride Month Photo Contest entitled “Ikaw Ang Tahanan Ko” for all the members of LGBTQIA+ community. Serrano as the newly appointed Director for the Office of Gender Concerns (OGC), effective this 12 August 2020 until 28 February 2021. The Office of Gender Concerns conducted an online video-conference through the platform Zoom, on April 16, 2020 at 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, to open the discussion about mental health and gender during the Enhanced Community Quarantine amid COVID-19 pandemic.   The UPOU Office of Gender Concerns is happy to report meeting the mandate of devoting a minimum of 5% of its total budget to gender and development endeavors, for the third consecutive year! The UPOU GAD Accomplishment Report has been reviewed and endorsed by the Philippine Commission on Women on April 14, 2020.  The OGC thanks the UPOU family (all unit leaders, all constituents) for the warm support and participation in working towards achieving goals, projects, and activities that advance gender equality. The work continues, and we are excited to continue working with you!
