UPOU-OGC Welcomes New Director

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) welcomes Dr. Joane V. Serrano as the newly appointed Director for the Office of Gender Concerns (OGC), effective this 12 August 2020 until 28 February 2021. Dr. Serrano is an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS). June 5, 2020 – Cafe Talk: Sexual Health

The Office of Gender Concerns conducted an online discussion on June 5 2020 at 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM,  through the vide-conferencing platform Zoom, to open the conversation about Sexual Health. The Office of Gender Concerns conducted an online video-conference through the platform Zoom, on April 16, 2020 at 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, to open the discussion about mental health and gender during the Enhanced Community Quarantine amid COVID-19 pandemic. The director of the Office of Gender Concerns, Asst. Professor Rameses De Jesus, presented a report on studies and statistics that illustrate the relationship between gender and mental health. April 14, 2020 – UPOU meets mandate to devote 5% of total budget to Gender and Development work

  The UPOU Office of Gender Concerns is happy to report meeting the mandate of devoting a minimum of 5% of its total budget to gender and development endeavors, for the third consecutive year! The UPOU GAD Accomplishment Report has been reviewed and endorsed by the Philippine Commission on Women on April 14, 2020.  The OGC thanks the UPOU family (all unit leaders, all constituents) for the warm support and participation in working towards achieving goals, projects, and activities that advance gender equality. The work continues, and we are excited to continue working with you!
